The Junco Crossbody Bag - Vintage Monogram in Black
Here is another Junco that's been made from an authentic Louis Vuitton Monogram Bucket Pouch 27. It's been thoroughly cleaned and is ready for a new owner!!
The zipper was missing from this bag, so I added my own flap with black leather stitching and a fun pop of leopard vegan leather inside. The flap has been riveted on the bag with brass rivets. The inside Vuittonite (see below) was in poor shape, so I scrubbed it out, leaving a soft flannel-like liner.
I used an authentic LV button and fashioned it into a concho for a snap that keeps your belongings safe. I love how she turned out!!! I added two brass D-rings to the sides and a beautiful black leather strap. The strap is adjustable from 39-48".
This little Junco measures L 7.75 x H 4 x D 0.75" and is sure to be your next favorite bag! For a video review of this bag, please see my highlight bubble called "The Junco" on IG!
Please note: These are vintage bags, and will show some wear. I try to call out everything, but please make sure to look at the pictures!!
About Vuittonite: Prior to 1997, Louis Vuitton lined many of its bags with a vinyl-like material known as Vuittonite. It was used (and patented) by Louis Vuitton because its resistance to water makes it easy to clean. Unfortunately, when exposed to high heat or humidity, Vuittonite begins to deteriorate and peel away from the edges of the bag. Over time, it becomes increasingly sticky, forming a residue (which, in extreme cases, is black in color) that transfers to anything placed inside the bag. Talcum powder can be used to slow the stickiness, or scrub it out to reveal a flannel-like liner.
